But Monster Boy is so good I can overlook the fact that you barely spend any time as Wonder Boy. I prefer to just play the game as Wonder Boy with a bunch of items and abilities. I actually don't like the shape-shifting mechanic much, which I know is an unpopular opinion. That may sound like hyperbole, but I've spent most of my 22 hours playing the game smiling. It brought me back to a time when games were released in a complete and playable state, and it reminded me that they can actually bring happiness and joy into your life. This is easy for me since I'd recommend Monster Boy over anything released in the last few years.
